A way to keep the nightmares at bay (set 7 of 10)

Against my better judgement this fine evening I decided to look up the affects of black widow spider bites. In the beginning I was relieved to read that they are not as bad as they are made out to be but then I decided to check out the brown recluse and how their bites are handled... I became thoroughly disgusted to say the least. And creeped out. My bad to say the least. So I decided I'm make myself a little more happy before I went to bed (looking to keep nightmares at bay) and so I put together 10 more photos. 

These are all instax mini photos. I need to take more, she's been retired to my room for a while lately while I've played with the new Impossible Project color film for the SX-70. I need to keep her around more though.

And so wraps up yet another set of 10. Turns out I have taken many more pictures that I've liked since March. Exciting definitely but no reason to stop taking pictures. My life has been hectic lately but my digital camera is ALWAYS with me just in case. There are so many missed pictures that I wish I could take but it would mean pulling over on highways and busy streets. There are some projects I need to do before moving however, they are just going to have to take some courage.

p.s. Spiders, if you could stay out of my bed I would appreciate it a lot and will continue to let most of your species live even when I see you around. Thanks.

#6 10 of 100 Flickr worth pictures (set 1 of 10)

As you may (or may not know) one of my things to do on my 25 before 25 list is take and post what I deam to be 100 flickr worthy pictures. I have yet to post these on flickr but that's a different story. ;)

I'm really surprised at how many pictures I have taken in the last 5 months, and I'm even more surprised with how happy I am with the turn out on most of them. Before I blabber on too much longer here are the first ten, enjoy!

I'm so happy to start sharing these with you. I know some of them have already been used in previous posts but I'm trying to keep accurate documentation for my 25 by 25 list. :)

Obviously this set was of (some) of my polaroids. I might even meet half of my goal with just my polaroids but I'm not sure yet. Then there are all the other pictures I have taken since March with my Holga and my big lens and my regular digital camera. I have a lot to catalog and then load onto flickr!

As I was performing my daily (hourly) We Heart It crawl I came upon this lovely, lovely collection of ferris wheel pictures. I am so insanely jealous. I love, love, love ferris wheels, or at least taking pictures of them. This just makes me think I need, need, need more polaroid film even though there isn't much left in existence in this size. :( My colors, while pretty, never end up that clear unless I'm using the instax 210 and then it's too clear and normal. Give me muted colors! Give me random brights!

Sigh. Next Thursday is what I have my eye on. I cannot WAIT until I'm in San Francisco with my girls C and R. Many, many laughs to be had.

I really can't wait.

The Fair

Yesterday I took the boy to the fair to have one more fun date before he moves to Seattle. I have to say I have not enjoyed the fair this much in a really long time. We looked at all of the exhibits, walked through the different shops, saw all of the livestock (cute, smelly and sad because they are going to be eaten...) almost stuck around for a pig race but missed it because we were drawing on little cards in the art exhibit.

We went over to kiddie land and I took a bunch of pictures, then we went back to grown up land and I took more pictures. The fair is such an amazing place to take pictures. I feel like the pictures create a place so much more magical than the San Diego Fair really is.

When I was younger the fair had so much promise. I imagined finding a boyfriend part way through the day and going on the ferris wheel with him.

These days I know not to look for a boy at the fair and this time, for the first time EVER I had one. We went on the ferris wheel and I took billions of pictures with my 20 different cameras and threw a kiss in now and then.

It was a really, really good date. I didn't spend THAT much money. Paid for parking, bought discount tickets from Albertson's, only bought enough tickets to ride the ferris wheel, and just walked around. I'm usually so spend spend spend but I'm trying REALLY hard to get better.

Before I get off track into money land I would just like to end this and say yesterday was worth everything. I shot some amazing pictures with my polaroid if nothing else and I got to spend quality time with my boyfriend at a fair. Something I've been wanting to be able to say for YEARS.

So yeah it's a bummer that he's moving, and yeah I'm going to be single again but I'm proud of myself for making the most of this time and trying to have as much fun as possible instead of giving up because it hurts.

Reading The Happiness Project during an emotional time is also really good for me.
