$$$

aweee

I think I need to ban myself from looking at a lot of blogs in the next few months/possibly year. If it shows cute things to buy I am going to have to quickly scroll down or just stop looking all together. I'm coming to realize that I have a very serious shopaholic issue. I think I must give my credit card to my dad so I do not EVER put anything else on it. I should also become accountable to him for a while on what I do buy. The idea makes me cringe because I love being able to make my own choices but I'm not showing myself that I can handle it very well.

It's a good time in my life to start making these changes, start creating better habits so that in the future I will have a good retirement fund and if I have children (or just one), money for his/her college education. Even before that thought, money to buy a house (if that's what I want to do) or money to safely change careers if the next one I chose doesn't work out.

Point is, I have a money problem, always have, and I need to change it. I'm not in overwhelming debt, I'm not as bad off as a lot of people my age but the point is I could be doing a whole lot better and then I would be stressing a lot less.

So here's to #12 on 25 before 25!

Forever and Always: We Heart It

Had an interesting conversation today with a friend from Junior High. He dropped a bomb of a comment alluding to his interest back in the day. I was shocked. Absolutely astounded. Here's why: I had the biiiiiiggest fattest crush on this boy for about two years. Not only that but I was the biggest nerd/geek/whatever (or so I thought) back then. I had a huge crush and basically told myself it was never going to happen. There was no possible way that a "popular" guy that dated the likes of Karissa and such would EVER be interested in me.

Guess who was wrong. Me.

Life is so funny. Full of surprises.

I'm so glad I'm a lot more confident than I was back then. I've grown so much, so very much and I'm so much better off mentally and it's just wonderful to realize. I don't know if any of you dear readers have had a "oh my gosh, no way" and then a "I love who I am now" moment please share. I LOVE them. They are so great.
I don't know about you, but they make me feel like I actually have accomplished something, because sometimes I forget, sometimes I slip back into a bit of the Junior High mentality.

Good day.
Oh I love this Friday.

Oh my goodness, too bad it's over $400

.

Now that I feel all better.

25 before 25 (finally)

We Heart It

As I went back to research what other people put down I realized they usually do one less than the year they are heading for but I had been writing about 25 before 25 for a while now so I'll just stick with that.

Here they are!
1. Get a tattoo (not a big shocker is it)
2. Swim with sharks
3. Try out roller derby or at least relearn how to rollerskate
4. move out of state (Nashville, Tennessee is the goal right now)
5. Finish another blanket (crochet)
6. Take/post 100 flicker worthy pictures
7. crochet scarf/cowl
8. Finish 8 for fun books
9. Finish 2 self help books
10. Cook for someone at least once a month
11. Ride spectrum ferris wheel and take pictures (possible tie in to # 6)
12. Pay off at least 2/3 of credit card. Thats about $2700)
13. Volunteer: not sure where yet but it's out there
14. make 3 collages: I use to make these all the time and I still collect pictures but don't make them
15. paint a picture
16. Finish my paint by numbers
17. Take a road trip (might go with #4 and certainly #6)
18. Go on a hot air balloon ride
19. get off my medication for anxiety: I've already started this process and I'm doing pretty well. I started at a low dose so it shouldn't be too much longer now.
20. Figure out next career goal/move
21. Write a letter/email to Alexandra Patsavas: she has an amazing job I want to know more about
22. Take a photography class
23. Go on a bike ride: I have had a slight hatred for bikes since I was like 10... so here's to getting over this
24. Tea party in the park (definitely helps with #6)
25. Go horseback riding: I love horses and haven't been horseback riding in soooo long

So there they are! This is exciting! Finally it's complete. It's only 17 or so days after my birthday. :)

Found on We Heart It

Turns out I'm a nutter.
The boy I was so sad over isn't ignoring me or disappearing from my life early.
Miscommunication and awful timing.

I feel a lot better today. For so many reasons, the main one being getting in contact with someone I thought I wasn't going to get to talk to again.
Also, almost got in an accident but DIDN'T! Thank goodness. Slammed on my breaks which normally makes my car do this skipping thing but they changed the brake hose so it was better... THEN sped by a motorcycle cop who miraculously didn't chase after me and THEN sped (though not quite as high over the speed limit) past another motorcycle cop. I'm pretty sure they were teaming up for a win or two but somehow I came out without a ticket.

Phew.

I canNOT afford a ticket right now. I mean, I can't ever but really just can't at all right now.

Lastly, I have a semi new obsession with toy cameras. LOVE THEM, next acquisition will be a white Holga I think. Maybe a black one but I already have a black camera. :)

A few of the pictures I have taken with my lovely brown camera. Love love love.

I'm also getting my bangs trimmed tonight before I go on a date. I'm more excited about the bang trim than the date. Not the guy's fault. He seems pretty awesome, it's just bad timing with other guy bs and such.

Oh well, make the best, smile the brightest and keep moving forward I guess.

Because I need something pretty

Goal: dreamy, gorgeous hair.

All fromWe Heart It

Beautiful ladies with beautiful hair. I feel like if my hair was like this, so perfect then nothing could go wrong.
Unfortunately today I had 20 minutes total to get everything I do in the morning done. Eat, get food collected for lunch, get dressed, straighten bangs, some makeup... so my hair is a little bit everywhere. I guess it's okay. It matches how I feel. Pulled together because I have to be.

Found on LifeLovePaper

This is how I feel this week. In the middle of a rush not wanting to go anywhere or do anything. I have wanted to crawl back into bed Monday through today in hopes that I'll feel better after 10+ hours of sleep. I'm sad, it's no secret.

I let someone in and they decided they didn't want to stay. I very, very rarely let people in. I don't know if I did something wrong or if it's just circumstance but it hurts and I don't like it.

I saw Dear John again last night, that certainly didn't help but it let me cry. I want to take a mental health day. Go back to sleep and forget things exist for a bit.

Sorry this isn't as cheery as normal, I'll be back with normal updates soon.

Valerie Vargas

I couldn't resist, I bought myself this lovely print after seeing it on Not Your Average Ordinary

I didn't even look at her other stuff before I bought it but now that I have had a chance... it looks gorgeous too. :)

Hope your Monday isn't treating you too horribly.

Must have been the way...

Oh Taylor

This day has been long but it ended well. It started last night, when I came home to my roommates (who I'm not doing well with) drinking and watching the Simpsons. I pretty much have a newfound hatred for Futurama and The Simpsons because of these people. I just don't understand sitting together on a couch Friday night getting drunk and watching shows you could be watching during the week that are not even THAT funny. But that's a rant that I could talk about for a long time and I don't want to get negative.
The point is, looong story short, I wanted to go to bed and my roommates and some other friends were loud and obnoxious and I went to bed feeling a little off so I ended up not being able to sleep well and two hours after laying down with the lights out I had to go downstairs to ask them to turn the music down. I'm sure that made them like me even more. Oh well. So I went back upstairs, made myself eat half a banana because I think my stomach was feeling off because I was hungry. Then I tried to fall asleep. I managed to do just that for about an hour or so but then I woke up to the roommates going to sleep, drunkenly trying to get ready for bed. I woke up and anxiety attack ensued. I had to open my window wide, freeze myself to sanity and then eat the rest of my banana. I slept well after that but had to be up early (for a Saturday) to drop my car off at Toyota.
To my great surprise they gave me a rental car which was great even though I only used it to go straight home and get back into bed.
When I woke it was time to pick up my car, I did that and didn't know what else to do with myself. It was a lonely and depressed feeling day for reasons I couldn't quite pinpoint. I'm not sure if it was leftover emotions being thrown around my head from the night before or if it was the fact that I live in a house I don't ever want to go home to, or a job that drains my energy as soon as I walk in the door because I am trying hard to be grateful for the opportunity but I know deep down that it's not right for me.
Life is so short but so long at the same time. I'm coming up on my quarter century birthday next year and I want to be doing something that I am happy with. I want to be living my quarter life dream. I want my tattoo(s), I want a dog, I want a 1 bedroom apartment, I want to be living in Tennessee. I want to be off of medication, I want to be dancing. I want want want. Is this a lot to want? I want to be making a decent amount of money, an amount that won't have me living paycheck to paycheck and will cover my beautiful puppy's expenses as well as mine. I'm not asking for a lot of extremely luxurious things. Just a little life. I want to be in a town where people are raised to be respectful.

The movie was great. I got off topic. I apologize. Starting point being, I really enjoyed the movie and my dinner of popcorn and candy. I loved Taylor Swift's part in the movie because she's just so obnoxious but so frickin adorable in general. She breaks it down pretty good. I just laughed... out loud just a bit remember the scene.

Did you see it? I understand it's not anywhere up to the level of Love Actually but it's still pretty fantastic. Personal, humble opinion.

Never thought I would say this

But I like something by Juicy Couture...

A-frickin-dorable! I have to stop my like of anything Juicy there. My sister is obsessed but I've done my best to stay away. I usually find a lot of their popular pieces so incredibly repulsive. But alas even I have weaknesses... and they are polaroid cameras.

My new favorite poem

Just thought I would share. My mind has been all over the place today.

This has been me lately

.

I do know some of my wants I guess. An apartment/studio in a state that's not California, in a place that knows seasons. A job that leaves me questioning and wanting to learn more. A job that I'm happy to tell friends "I can't, I have to work" when they ask me to do something. I want to live in a place with accents, accents that I can hear. Apparently we have accents here but they're lost on me.
I want this:

and this:

and this:

and maybe some of this:

I want something new and exciting that lasts. New friends, new views, new vintage/resale stores, new projects, new spaces, new stuff. New, fun, stuff.

All images courtesy of we heart it users. I wish I had kept better track of these. I apologize.

Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot

Again with the stumbling upon gorgeous things!

Delightfully found here
I wish, wish, wish there were carnivals this pretty by me.

Which reminds me, I must must must start learning Portuguese this year. MUST! I must also continue working on my Spanish.
I just found my new favorite website to get lost in: Polyvore

I might be super late to this game but I accidently came across it while looking for the perfect picture of a specific pair of Lavin shoes that Jennifer Aniston is wearing on the new cover of W with Gerard Butler.
Normally I'm not much of a W freak unless my stepmom buys it and I steal it for the pictures later, but her shoes just caught me off guard.

Gorgeous. The shoes... well forget it, everything and everyone in the picture, let's be honest.

So while searching for the shoes I came across a different, equally eye dazzling pair. It led me to this amazing collage that I guess can be made on Polyvore... who knew?! Not I!

....

.

I'm pretty sure the look on my face as I scrolled through some of the collages looked awestruck. I haven't found this feeling of inspiration in a while. It hit my heart.

I'll leave you with one of my birthday gifts to myself!

My Desk At Work. Decorated. yay birthdays!

When I walked into the office on Friday this is how I found my desk:

They couldn't figure out what freaked me out so they just decided printed cats, clowns and slabs of meat. They also left me a pretty little message that was someone mimicing the sound of throwing up. NO THANKS!!!
Puke does freak me out, the other things just made me laugh.
Oh yeah, and they spelled my name horribly wrong. They also did that on purpose knowing that it makes me a tad irritable. I mean, my twitter name is coreywithane... I am very fond of my e. (clearly not the drug, I don't own any of that kind of e)

So there's that, more later with birthday gifts and such.

I have some of the bestest friends ever!

YAY 24!

Great Birthday. Really great birthday. Still need to make the 25 before 25 list. Number 1 will be GET A TATTOO!!!!!!! Definitely. Here are my two ideas...

Style and colors of first picture, I like the pretty bow on the second balloon picture, I want to incorporate it somehow. This one will be on the inside of my left arm, one balloon above the elbow bend and one below. I want "such great heights" written above the top balloon. Favorite song!

These would be in a trail form as if they were blowing from my back, around my ribs right under bra line. Different fall colors. Again on the left side. For some reason I love the left side. I'm saving the back of my right arm and shoulder for a different tattoo idea... I want Kat Von D to do it, noooo joke.

Later I will upload pictures from the weekend.

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!

I've been lagging this week I apologize. This past week (or past few) have been flying by. This one definitely. Sunday night I was at a show hanging out with friends, Wednesday night I was in Los Angeles for the same friends, stayed in Long Beach with a bunch of new friends, came back down Thursday afternoon to sleep and then get some food and put myself back to bed because Wednesday night was a party in an apartment.
Today I come into work and my desk is completely covered in paper cats, clowns, raw meat (I'm vegetarian) and my name spelled wrong. I LOVE BIRTHDAY WEEKENDS!!!! Today is just the start, well I could say Wednesday night was just the start. Oh it's great. But the cats are pretty distracting.

I'll post pictures soon.
