Sorry I've been absent. I'm in Portland on a vacation. Thus far all I can say is... Things are never quite as they seem and memories definitely glorify the past.

Off to get some delicious thai food by my old place.

Monday is the day to repair a friendship that was in distress for the past six months or so.

Life is...

$$$

aweee

I think I need to ban myself from looking at a lot of blogs in the next few months/possibly year. If it shows cute things to buy I am going to have to quickly scroll down or just stop looking all together. I'm coming to realize that I have a very serious shopaholic issue. I think I must give my credit card to my dad so I do not EVER put anything else on it. I should also become accountable to him for a while on what I do buy. The idea makes me cringe because I love being able to make my own choices but I'm not showing myself that I can handle it very well.

It's a good time in my life to start making these changes, start creating better habits so that in the future I will have a good retirement fund and if I have children (or just one), money for his/her college education. Even before that thought, money to buy a house (if that's what I want to do) or money to safely change careers if the next one I chose doesn't work out.

Point is, I have a money problem, always have, and I need to change it. I'm not in overwhelming debt, I'm not as bad off as a lot of people my age but the point is I could be doing a whole lot better and then I would be stressing a lot less.

So here's to #12 on 25 before 25!

Forever and Always: We Heart It

Had an interesting conversation today with a friend from Junior High. He dropped a bomb of a comment alluding to his interest back in the day. I was shocked. Absolutely astounded. Here's why: I had the biiiiiiggest fattest crush on this boy for about two years. Not only that but I was the biggest nerd/geek/whatever (or so I thought) back then. I had a huge crush and basically told myself it was never going to happen. There was no possible way that a "popular" guy that dated the likes of Karissa and such would EVER be interested in me.

Guess who was wrong. Me.

Life is so funny. Full of surprises.

I'm so glad I'm a lot more confident than I was back then. I've grown so much, so very much and I'm so much better off mentally and it's just wonderful to realize. I don't know if any of you dear readers have had a "oh my gosh, no way" and then a "I love who I am now" moment please share. I LOVE them. They are so great.
I don't know about you, but they make me feel like I actually have accomplished something, because sometimes I forget, sometimes I slip back into a bit of the Junior High mentality.

Good day.
Oh I love this Friday.

Oh my goodness, too bad it's over $400

.

Now that I feel all better.

25 before 25 (finally)

We Heart It

As I went back to research what other people put down I realized they usually do one less than the year they are heading for but I had been writing about 25 before 25 for a while now so I'll just stick with that.

Here they are!
1. Get a tattoo (not a big shocker is it)
2. Swim with sharks
3. Try out roller derby or at least relearn how to rollerskate
4. move out of state (Nashville, Tennessee is the goal right now)
5. Finish another blanket (crochet)
6. Take/post 100 flicker worthy pictures
7. crochet scarf/cowl
8. Finish 8 for fun books
9. Finish 2 self help books
10. Cook for someone at least once a month
11. Ride spectrum ferris wheel and take pictures (possible tie in to # 6)
12. Pay off at least 2/3 of credit card. Thats about $2700)
13. Volunteer: not sure where yet but it's out there
14. make 3 collages: I use to make these all the time and I still collect pictures but don't make them
15. paint a picture
16. Finish my paint by numbers
17. Take a road trip (might go with #4 and certainly #6)
18. Go on a hot air balloon ride
19. get off my medication for anxiety: I've already started this process and I'm doing pretty well. I started at a low dose so it shouldn't be too much longer now.
20. Figure out next career goal/move
21. Write a letter/email to Alexandra Patsavas: she has an amazing job I want to know more about
22. Take a photography class
23. Go on a bike ride: I have had a slight hatred for bikes since I was like 10... so here's to getting over this
24. Tea party in the park (definitely helps with #6)
25. Go horseback riding: I love horses and haven't been horseback riding in soooo long

So there they are! This is exciting! Finally it's complete. It's only 17 or so days after my birthday. :)

Found on We Heart It

Turns out I'm a nutter.
The boy I was so sad over isn't ignoring me or disappearing from my life early.
Miscommunication and awful timing.

I feel a lot better today. For so many reasons, the main one being getting in contact with someone I thought I wasn't going to get to talk to again.
Also, almost got in an accident but DIDN'T! Thank goodness. Slammed on my breaks which normally makes my car do this skipping thing but they changed the brake hose so it was better... THEN sped by a motorcycle cop who miraculously didn't chase after me and THEN sped (though not quite as high over the speed limit) past another motorcycle cop. I'm pretty sure they were teaming up for a win or two but somehow I came out without a ticket.

Phew.

I canNOT afford a ticket right now. I mean, I can't ever but really just can't at all right now.

Lastly, I have a semi new obsession with toy cameras. LOVE THEM, next acquisition will be a white Holga I think. Maybe a black one but I already have a black camera. :)
